Grade 7 OER Math, Edition 1
You can find the most recent version of the materials at Bluebonnet Learning™ Grade 7 Math.
These OER Secondary Math instructional materials were submitted to the Texas State Board of Education for review as part of their annual Instructional Materials Review and Approval (IMRA) process in May 2024. These materials have been revised to reflect updates from the SBOE IMRA process and public comments and feedback.
The revised materials, now called Bluebonnet Learning Secondary Mathematics, can be found on the Texas Gateway at https://texasgateway.org/book/bluebonnet-learningtm-seventh-grade-secondary-mathematics-edition-1. Please see Bluebonnet Learning Secondary Mathematics for the most updated version of these instructional materials.
Pilot Algebra I
In this course, students will build understanding of the following modules: Searching for Patterns, Exploring Constant Change, Investigating Growth and Decay, and Maximizing and Minimizing.
Each module is broken up into topics where you will find teacher materials to guide the instruction and the student materials both used in the classroom for learning together and learning individually.
The agency developed these learning resources as a contingency option for school districts during COVID. All resources are optional. Prior to publication, materials go through a rigorous third-party review. Review criteria include TEKS alignment, support for all learners, progress monitoring, implementation supports, and more. Products also are subject to a focus group of Texas educators.
Objects in Motion
This resource provides flexible alternate or additional learning activities for students learning about the concepts of distance, speed, and acceleration. IPC TEKS (4)(A)
Solving Systems of Equations with Graphs
Given verbal and/or algebraic descriptions of situations involving systems of linear equations, the student will solve the system of equations using graphs.
Gravitational Force
This resource provides flexible alternate or additional learning activities for students learning about the gravitational attraction between objects of different masses at different distances. IPC TEKS (4)(F)
Algebra I - Module 1, Topic 1: Quantities and Relationships
In this topic, students explore a variety of different functions. The intent is merely to introduce these new functions, providing an overview but not a deep understanding at this point. The topic is designed to help students recognize that different function families have different key characteristics. In later study in this course, they will formalize their understanding of the defining characteristics of each type of function.
